Kaizer Chiefs have announced the acquisition of Angolan international centre-back, Inacio Miguel, from Petro de Luanda on a three-year deal. The 28-year-old defender, also known as Inacio Miguel Ferreira dos Santos, arrived in South Africa on Tuesday and successfully completed his medical before putting pen to paper.

    Inacio Miguel’s Impressive Track Record

Miguel’s journey in professional football includes stints with several notable clubs, showcasing his defensive prowess and leadership qualities. His experience playing in competitive leagues will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the Soweto Giants. The Portuguese-born defender was an integral part of the Petro de Luanda team that participated in the CAF Champions League and won Angola’s domestic league title last season. He has also appeared five times in Angolan national team colours.

    Boosting the Squad’s Depth

Miguel, the first Angolan international to sign for Chiefs’ senior team, is the fifth addition to the squad during the current transfer window. He joins Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam and Gaston Sirino, who all arrived in the last few weeks.

The signing of Miguel signals the club’s ambition to build a formidable squad capable of competing for top honours. The club’s management is confident that Miguel’s presence will inspire the team to achieve great success in the upcoming seasons.

    Strengthening the Amakhosi Defense

The addition of Inacio Miguel is expected to significantly bolster Kaizer Chiefs‘ defensive capabilities. His ability to read the game, make crucial interceptions, and win aerial duels will provide much-needed stability to the backline

Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., expressed his delight at Miguel joining the team. He described Miguel as a player of exceptional calibre whose experience, skill, and passion for the game perfectly align with the spirit of Kaizer Chiefs.

Motaung Jr. emphasized that Miguel’s presence would bring a positive influence to the team and contribute significantly his talent. He concluded by expressing anticipation for working with Miguel as he embarks on a new chapter of his career in South Africa.
