The Betway Premiership rolls on with a mouth-watering set of fixtures that kicks off on Tuesday evening before a bumper Saturday slate delivers eight simultaneous encounters across the country. From the Lowveld to the Cape Winelands, the drama promises to be relentless as clubs chase points at opposite ends of the table.

Sundowns Hunt Another Scalp in Nelspruit

The week gets underway at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Tuesday, 12 May at 19:30 when TS Galaxy welcome the seemingly unstoppable Mamelodi Sundowns. Rulani Mokwena’s men have been in imperious form, and Galaxy will know better than most that Masandawana bring individual quality in every department of the pitch. However, the Rockets are no pushover on home soil, and the electric Nelspruit atmosphere could inject just enough belief for Sead Ramović’s side to cause an upset. Keep a close eye on the battle in central midfield — if Galaxy can disrupt Sundowns’ rhythm early, this one could be far more competitive than the odds suggest.

AmaZulu vs Kaizer Chiefs — Durban on Fire

Saturday, 16 May delivers a full programme of 15:00 kick-offs, and the standout fixture is arguably the Moses Mabhida Stadium clash between AmaZulu FC and Kaizer Chiefs. Durban’s iconic venue will be rocking as Usuthu look to assert themselves in front of their passionate home faithful, while Chiefs arrive searching for the kind of result that could galvanise a difficult campaign. The Glamour Boys have shown flashes of promise, and a positive result on the KwaZulu-Natal coast would be enormous for morale. Expect fireworks in attack on both sides — this has all the ingredients of a compelling Premiership encounter.

Pirates Look to Soar at Orlando Stadium

Across town in Soweto, Orlando Pirates host Durban City at the famous Orlando Stadium. José Riveiro’s side have been playing some fluid, energetic football, and the Buccaneers faithful will be expecting nothing less than a dominant home performance. Durban City, still finding their footing at this level, will need to defend diligently and hit on the counter if they are to leave Soweto with anything to show for their efforts.

    Survival Six-Pointers and Promotion Battles

Beyond the glamour ties, Saturday’s card is littered with fixtures carrying significant weight in the context of the standings. At the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, Chippa United take on Golden Arrows in what could be a crucial meeting for both clubs. Meanwhile, up in Polokwane, the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium hosts a fiery Limpopo derby as Polokwane City square off against Marumo Gallants — a fixture that always carries provincial pride alongside the points.

    • Richards Bay vs Sekhukhune United — Richards Bay Stadium, Richards Bay | 15:00
    • Siwelele vs Magesi FC — Dr Molemela Stadium, Bloemfontein | 15:00
    • Stellenbosch FC vs Orbit College FC — Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch | 15:00

The Stellenbosch versus Orbit College fixture at the Danie Craven Stadium could carry promotion and relegation subtext, while Siwelele and Magesi clash in Bloemfontein in what shapes up as a tightly contested midfield battle. There is truly something for every PSL supporter this week — so set those reminders and settle in for a feast of South African football.
