    2023 PSL Carling Knockout Cup: Latest Updates, Fixtures

    PSL announced its partnership with Carling Black Label to create another domestic cup in the 2023/24 season.

    Tuesday, 10 October 2023, PSL drew the Carling Knockout last 16 fixture.

    Let’s dive right in and check out the exciting fixtures and competition dates.

    • Sekhukhune United vs Royal AM
    • Orlando Pirates vs Cape Town Spurs
    • SuperSport United vs Polokwane City
    • TS Galaxy vs Mamelodi Sundowns
    • Chippa United vs Stellenbosch FC
    • Richards Bay vs Moroka Swallows
    • Lamontville Golden Arrows vs Cape Town City

    When Will The Competition Start?

    Now that the fixture for the cup has been revealed, PSL has now revealed the competition will start next week, 18 October 2023.

    Carling Knockout Prize Money

    PSL has just published the Carling Cup prize money details, even though other club owners were curious and questioning when will the competition incentives be revealed.

    But here goes, the clubs will be competing for a whopping R20.2 million stake, with the winner walking with R6,850,000.00.

    It has also been reported that the man of the match for each game will walk away with R100,000.00 prize.

    Carling Black Label Cup History

    In the past, this cup was just contested by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates however this year, every club in the PSL will be involved and voted to play in the Carling Cup.

    It’s a very unique cup that involves every club’s fans to also participate and be part of its planning and execution. The Carling Cup is a top-four tournament that allows fans to vote and choose which teams should play in the cup.

    The top four most-voted teams will then be drawn to compete against each other to win the Carling Knockout Cup.

    PSL is expected to make further announcements next month, in September as promised for voting instructions and competition prizes for both clubs and the champion fans.
