One Egyptian legend is urging his former club, Zamalek to sign Bafana Bafana and Al Ahly star Percy Tau in the next transfer window.
According to Egyptian media, the retired Zamalek striker, Ahmed Hossam Mido says the White Knights must break the bank and sign Tau. Tau will see his contract coming to an end in June and Mido is calling on his former club to sign the talented Bafana star.
The Pharaohs legend, also argues that for his former club to return to glory days, they must sign big players such as Tau.

Formerly on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion and Mamelodi Sundowns, the 29-year-old Bafana hitman is the reigning African Player of the Year based in Africa but has struggled with injuries and fatigue since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Will the Bafana Star Dump Ahly and Join Zamalek?
After a dismal AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast with Bafana, Tau made his long-awaited return in Ahly’s goalless draw at TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg last weekend.
At the same time, the African Club of the Century will hope he can help them book their place in the final. However, Mido has now urged Ahly’s bitter rivals to sign the South African, who has won seven trophies with the reigning CAF Champions League winners.
“I hope Percy Tau joins Zamalek. The Zamalek board should fight to sign him because his contract with Al Ahly is nearing its end,” he said as per Kingfut.
“”f there are more signings in the summer, Zamalek will return to its natural strength and compete for all the trophies. I urge the Zamalek fans to be patient with the club’s board because change takes time, and the club is on the right track in all sports.”

Apart from Tau, the controversial legend also wants to see the 2016 Champions League losing finalists to also sign former Huddersfield and Stoke City winger, Ramadan Sobhi – an Ahly youth product – join Zamalek.
“Ramadan Sobhi is a young player but hasn’t developed as expected in the past two years. However, Zamalek can give him a lifeline,” he added. “The club’s fans are great, they can revive anyone from the freezer, but we must respect Pyramids because they still own the player’s contract.”
Tau Reaches CAF Milestone with Ahly
Remaining with the Witbank-born star’s progress, Tau reached 100 games for the Red Devils as they faced the Ravens last weekend.
The Bafana international started the match on the bench but was brought into action at half-time, with Ahly largely under massive pressure in the first interval.
It was Tau’s 100th appearance since joining the Club of the Century in August 2021 under Pitso Mosimane. The former Sundowns and Club Brugge star has scored 24 goals and set up 13 more but didn’t add his name to the scoresheet in Lubumbashi on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Tau will look to be on the scoresheet when they welcome Mazembe in Cairo on Friday.
