Itumeleng Khune makes a long-awaiting return to the goalie post and helps Kaizer Chiefs to proceed to the semi-finals of the MTN8 cup competition.

The veteran goalkeeper hadn’t played and had been sidelined for a long time since making a blunder during a game against Mamelodi Sundowns last season.

And unfortunately, Kaizer Chiefs have been lately struggling in their goalkeeper department and the experienced Khune was called in for a match at the MTN8 cup competition.

While the game between Chiefs and Stellenbosch ended in a draw after playing extra time, Khune was the hero of the match after saving two important penalties.

The Khosi fans were chanting his name throughout the game because it’s been a while since played and they know how important his ball distribution is to the team – Khune is like the 12th player they need the most.

Kaizer Chiefs are now through to the next round and, thanks to the saves from Khune. They have been drawn to face Amazulu FC in the semi-final of the MTN8 competition.
