Unveiling the Kaizer Chiefs Salary Structure in 2024

Kaizer Chiefs, one of the Giants in South African Football, have been a major force in the Premier Soccer League. Their success on the field is fuelled by talented players, but behind the scenes, a complex salary structure keeps the engine running. As previously shown last season, we look into the top earners of Amakhosi.

We will delve into the estimated salaries of Kaizer Chiefs players in 2024, exploring the factors that influence their earnings and analysing potential trends.

    1. Keegan Dolly

Keagan Larenzo Dolly is a talented South African footballer currently weaving his magic as an attacking midfielder for Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League. Known for his pace, dribbling skills, and eye for a killer pass, Dolly is a nightmare for opposing defences.

Dolly joined Amakhosi in 2021 and has become a vital part of the team. He has played for previous clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns and Montpellier Hérault SC (French Ligue 1). Dolly has represented his nation with distinction, including captaining the U/23 team at the 2016 Olympics.

The playmaker continues to be the best paid individual, reputedly taking home a cool R1.45 million per month.

    2. Itumeleng Khune

Itumeleng Issac Khune is a household name in South African football. This veteran goalkeeper has been a mainstay for Kaizer Chiefs and the South African national team (Bafana Bafana) for well over a decade. An embodiment of loyalty, Khune has spent his entire professional career with Amakhosi. He has racked up an impressive number of appearances, establishing himself as a club legend.

Khune is the second highest earner who pockets a significant R480,000 monthly.

    3. Alton Zwitha Kwinika

Kwinika possesses excellent defensive abilities and can effectively operate both as a centre-back and a fullback. Standing at approximately 1.8 meters tall, his aerial prowess poses a significant challenge to opponents, while his adept tackling skills play a vital role in thwarting enemy advances.

Kwinika’s consistency and leadership qualities have him firmly in Kaizer Chiefs’ plans. He’s expected to continue playing a vital role in their back line, potentially even challenging for the national team call-up in the future.

Kwinika is believed to earn around R370,000 monthly.

    4. Yusuf Maart and Ashley du Preez

Yusuf Maart is a talented South African midfielder currently dictating the tempo in the Kaizer Chiefs engine room. His vision, passing range, and work ethic make him a crucial cog in the Amakhosi machine.

Maart is known for his technical ability, exceptional passing range, and ability to control the flow of the game. He can operate as a deep-lying playmaker or a box-to-box midfielder, dictating play with his vision and composure. His tireless work ethic makes him a valuable defensive asset as well.

Ashley du Preez is a forward known for his electrifying pace and knack for finding the net. He’s a key player in Kaizer Chiefs’ attacking force, terrorizing defenses with his blistering runs and clinical finishing. Du Preez has represented South Africa at various youth levels and recently received a call-up to the senior national team (Bafana Bafana).

Both players earn approximately R300,000 per month.

    Rising stars and Squad players

The likes of Eric Mathoho, Cole Alexander, and younger prospects like Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Kamohelo Mahlatsi reportedly earn between R120,000 and R270,000 per month. Their salaries reflect a balance between rewarding potential and recognising established talent.

Kaizer Chiefs’ salary structure appears to prioritise a balance between rewarding experience and nurturing young talent. Top performers are well-compensated, while squad players and developing stars receive wages that reflect their contributions. This approach is crucial for maintaining a competitive squad while also ensuring financial sustainability.
