Mamelodi Sundowns are at home welcoming Sekhukhune United who are looking to end their winning run on Tuesday night. Sundowns are back to the DStv Premiership after a 1-0 defeat against Esperance of Tunisia in the CAF Champions League last weekend. Looking to stretch their lead at the top of the table, Masandawana are disappointed after their 2-2 draw against Moroka Swallows last week, and coach Rulani Mokwena desperately wants a win.

Looking at Babina Noko, Sekhukhune is on a winning run as they are unbeaten in five matches. They are in high spirits after coach Lehlohonolo Seema and skipper Linda Mntambo claimed the Coach of the Month and Player of the Month accolades for February/March.

Sundowns vs Sekhukhune Key Battles To Watch:

Marcelo Allende vs Linda Mntambo: Nicknamed Figo, Mntambo will look to inspire Sekhukhune to yet another win after beating Cape Town Spurs last weekend. The industrious midfielder is key since his return from injury. Meanwhile, Allende will also chase another win with Sundowns after netting against Swallows last week. The nippy star has a big task to lead the team to a win.

Ronwen Williams vs Daniel Cardoso: The two veterans, Williams and Cardoso will be some of the leaders on the pitch. Cardoso will look to bring stability at the back for the visiting side while Williams has an eye on keeping a clean sheet.

Sundowns vs Sekhukhune Head to Head:

Since 2021, the two DStv Premiership outfits have met on five occasions and the hosts have the advantage as they have four wins. The other clash ended in a stalemate.

    Sundowns vs Sekhukhune Coaches:

Rulani Mokwena: Mokwena was left furious last week when they drew against Swallows as he complained about the referees. The 37-year-old mentor has to guide his troops to glory after suffering a setback in Tunis. The Sundowns mentor also hopes to seal and secure the league title as soon as possible.

Lehlohonolo Seema: The former Pirates defender and Bloemfontein Celtic mentor has been around for many seasons as a coach. His work and winning mentality are rubbing off on his players and he will look to get one past Sundowns and end their unbeaten run.

    What The Teams Said:

Rulani Mokwena: “Teboho Mokoena was almost ready but we didn’t want to take that risk because of the schedule we have. But we’ll see how it goes.

“I thought we were brave on the ball, I thought we defended very well, I thought we suffered together in moments where we had to suffer against a very good team. When I watched the games of Esperance — against Club Africain, Al Hilal, Asec [Mimosas] — I don’t remember a team dominating them here like we did tonight.”

    Sundowns vs Sekhukhune Fan Sentiments

The Brazilians head to this clash on the back of disappointing results against Swallows and Esperance and will now target a win to restore their pride. The fans will rally behind the club as they always do and are confident of a win.

    Sundowns vs Sekhukhune Prediction:

Based on the statistics and records, Sundowns have a chance to claim the maximum points but their path to their 17th win of the season will be tested.

    Sundowns vs Skekhukhune What’s Next:

Masandawana have a crucial assignment on Friday night against their African counterparts. They will host Esperance in the second leg while Babina Noko meets TS Galaxy on May 01.
